George J. Urban, age 70, of Portage passed away Monday March 4, 2013 at the Golden Living Center Fountainview Place in Portage. George was former employee of US Steel Gary Works where he performed Blast Furnace Maintenance and became a boiler maker. He was born July 25, 1942 in Connellsville, PA to the late Walter and Josephine (Kush) Urban. He married Judith Russell February 9, 1963 in Gary, Indiana, she survives. Also surviving are several friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Walter Urban and his mother-in-law Genevieve Russell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery 11:30 am Friday March 8, 2013. Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel 5341 Central Avenue Portage, IN 46368 assisted with services.
